NBC is, AGAIN, Trying to Adapt UK Tech Support Sitcom ‘The IT Crowd’…

I suppose that the old adage is true: If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again; some things, however, should just be left alone as God’s way of saying “this is not to be.” For the — say it with me now — THIRD TIME, NBC will be adapting the hit UK Channel 4 show, The IT Crowd. If you think this sounds familiar, it’s because in 2007 NBC (after their success with another BBC hit, The Office) made a pilot staring Joel McHale, Richard Ayoade (from the original show) and Jessica St. Clair, and tried again in 2014 (which went nowhere). I suppose this also proves that even adapting one project into a new project can involve some “turning it off and on again;” Lord knows how many IT tickets I’ve personally encountered when THAT was the solution… Continue reading “NBC is, AGAIN, Trying to Adapt UK Tech Support Sitcom ‘The IT Crowd’…”

…and yes, he’s one, UGLY, motherf***er!

Now that I have that quote out of the way, starting TODAY (December 14th) and running through the beginning of January, the Predator, Hollywood’s most-popular alien hunter from John McTiernan’s 1987 sci-fi film (ya’ know, Predator), will be part of a special FREE downloadable content challenge in Ghost Recon: Wildlands where players — either alone or as a groups of up to four — have to fight to survive the hunter’s aggressive onslaught in order to take him down. Should you and/or your team defeat the Predator, you’ll receive his iconic mask (dreadlocks included) and corresponding heat vision. SCORE! Can the Documentary “Starship Chicago” Save the Thompson Center from Demolition?

Opening in 1985, Helmut Jahn’s Thompson Center became home for various agencies of the State of Illinois, with its design playing off of the designs of more traditional American statehouse. For example, the glass walls symbolize government transparency and the large atrium space compared to that of most US statehouses. Additionally, the structure’s short, sloped glass curtain wall with a protruding truncated cylinder structure on top stands out from the rectilinear skyscrapers that make up downtown Chicago’s skyline. The design attracted controversy as its unusual form and immense atrium made the building a constant focus for negative press for the last 30+ years, however the city gradually became accustomed to the Thompson’s Center’s unique presence and see it as a symbol of pride and a celebration of Chicago being the architecture capital of the world (and, personal opinion, it is). Introducing ‘Unico,’ the 3-Second Smartbrush Mouthpiece

The common rule-of-thumb is that it should take roughly 2 minutes to properly brush one’s teeth, which pertains to using some elbow grease with a manual toothbrush to the convenience of electric toothbrushes. Now, the Unico, a “smartbrush mouthpiece” as its creators call it, claims that it will clean your teeth in only three seconds. Yes, THREE SECONDS; that’s 2.5% of the old rule-of-thumb’s time!! This sounds like it’s straight out of science fiction!!

There’s a New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Arcade Game on the Horizon…

Sometime last month, there was an announcement that a new TMNT arcade game was being developed (based on the recent Nickelodeon reincarnation),which would be featuring similar four-player co-op action that made Konami’s 1989 version and the Turtles in Time follow-up all-time classics. However, at the time of said announcement, there was no footage to compliment this (in the minds of TMNT fans and fans of fun video games) awesome bit of news. At least until now! Arcade Heroes spent some hands-on time with that game and captured a lot of gameplay footage, from a single player level (above), a level that could be played by three players (after the break), and Arcade Heroes hey also got to spend some hands-on time with the game, so you should check out their impressions here. Ladies & Gentlemen, the First “Avengers: Infinity War” Trailer Is Here!

Four months ago at the D23 Expo and San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel showed fans — for the first time — some footage from the highly anticipated ‘Avengers’ film. Chris Jericho challenges Kenny Omega at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 in January!

Well, it certainly appears that Christmas will be arriving both early AND late this year. After “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega successfully defended his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Trent Barretta at New Japan’s Power Struggle event this past Sunday, Chris Jericho made an appearance on screen, challenging Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4th at the Tokyo Dome. Now, while many long-time wrestling fans know that Y2J is no stranger to the Land of the Rising Sun, his connection to the WWE certainly raises a few eyebrows and makes the impact much bigger.
