Digital Trend’s List of the Nine Tech Projects That Changed The World!

It goes without saying that both technology and the people who develop it have made great advances more many years.  While the plenitude of  smaller, incremental advances that change our lives in various minor ways (i.e., device and software updates, etc.), there exist at least a few giant projects that essentially transformed our world. From providing a means for humans to travel in space, feats of modern engineering and architecture, and answering questions about our existence, below are three of my personal highlights from Digital Trend’s list of nine of the most important technology-related projects ever. What do you do when a 1960’s-era Antoni Bonet i Castellana-designed rationalist building that worked as a greyhound stadium track has outlived its use? If you’re Dear Design Studio, you refurbish it into a research park. Dear Design Studio won a competition for their take on the interior design of the building after its 2016 refurbishment, which was likely very impressive since they had to adapt the former greyhound stadium’s facilities into an open, dynamic and flexible space for technology companies and start-ups. About two-and-a-half years ago, The PractitioNERD released a blog post about some free architecture courses offered by MIT, TU Delft, edX and the Open Online Academy.
