Well, of course THIS is a THING. It turns out that Hong Kong-based Chilli International’s fidget spinner phone has been around for a while. Last week, the device popped-up over on Reddit, but back in September, PhoneRadar released a hands-on video with the device.  The mobile phone comes in six different colors, includes a tiny 1.4-inch screen, includeds a web browser and Bluetooth connectivity, but only comes with 32MB (yes, MEGABYTES) of on-board storage (that’s expandable to 8GB with an SD card). This very is very simple and basic, similar to the feature phones that existed before smartphone took the reigns. The fidget phone is currently priced at $20, and while it’s only sold in India, you can find other versions of it on Amazon. Continue reading So, A Fidget Spinner Mobile Phone Exists. Irritating PC Myth: “You Have to Turn Your Computer Off At Night”

Exhausted woman sleeping in front of computer

Here’s the truth everyone: shutting down your computer isn’t something you should regularly have to do; especially if your computer was manufactured in the last 10 years. If you’ve got a laptop, just closing the lid should put it to sleep; even powerful desktop PCs can utilize built-in and customizable low-power sleep and hibernate modes. Still Stay Bone-Dry in The Techy/Artsy “Rain Room” in London

**singing**

“I’m standing in the rain, just standing in the rain, without a coat or umbrella, and I’m still bone-dry….”.

Anyway, the London Barbican Arts Center has recently opened this very impressive new installation that allows visitors to walk right into a room simulating a rain storm, and still NOT GET WET. The creators of the oh-so-cleverly titled “Rain Room,” art studio Random International, use a set of 3D cameras to detect the positions of the people within the space, then turns each of its individual rain streams on or off accordingly. The entire exhibit area covers over 1,000 square feet and uses nearly 220 gallons of water per minute, but allows the total supply of water to be quickly filtered and re-circulated through the system.
