Only two days until the “WrestleMania of the summer”, SummerSlam, airs live on the WWE Network and on pay-per-view. Starting with NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV on Saturday (see Activision, “IV” means 4, not “IIII”), the biggest party of the summer will be a near-7-hour affair — it being one of the “Big Five” supercards on WWE’s calendar. So, to hype up such a spectacle, it makes sense to get Terry Crews to do your promotional hype video. And it…is…WONDERFULLLLL!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I KNOW Survivor Series was this past weekend too — the show was really good overall, there wasn’t a ‘bad’ match in sight, and even Brock Lesnar getting squashed in 1:25 by Goldberg was very, VERY satisfying — but seriously, lets talk about NXT Takeover: Toronto for a minute. After months of #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) feuding with the NXT Tag Team Champions, The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, or as I call them, The New Brainbusters), the titles were put back on the line as the two teams battled in a Best Two-Out-of-Three Falls match. In my opinion, this match is competing with the John Cena vs. AJ Styles match from this year’s SummerSlam for the best match of the year; no joke. Continue reading “Hey Guys! How AWESOME was that #DIY vs. The Revival NXT Tag Team Title Match at Takeover: Toronto?!?”
So, the Hall-of-Famer Ric Flair was unable to introduce the world to “The Artist Formerly Known As” KENTA at the most recent NXT Takeover: Fatal-4-Way event on the awesome WWE Network (in which NXT is the better brand over RAW and SmackDown, one could argue) due to medical reasons which included a medical procedure. Sure it would have been cool to see, but health and safety first, boys and girls. But what is probably just as awesome to see (again, one could argue; but I LIKE IT) was something I didn’t know about, which was Flair popped up on Cartoon Network’s ‘Uncle Grandpa” right as the Takeover pre-show was starting.
