You’ll Need to Head to Sweden to Ride the First Electric Highway…

Scania and the Swedish government have taken a huge step toward renewable energy with the opening of their first stretch of Electric-Highway, also known as the e-Highway.  After working for years on hybrid tractor-trailer trucks, Scania finally developed a WORKING system.  This was accomplished by attaching a pantograph on top of the trucks, allowing the trucks to be easily attached/detached to electricity lines running along one lane of the highway. Here’s a Full Swedish Orchestra performing a Mega Man Medley…

The eight-minute video above is something else.  It features the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, comprised of people in their 50s (or older), many of whom have likely never played a game in the Mega Man series, flawlessly perform theme songs from the games.  It is quite the amazing sight! Most of the set has music from Mega Man 3, but also includes music from 1 and 2, as … Continue reading Here’s a Full Swedish Orchestra performing a Mega Man Medley…

Wristbands Translating Sign Language Into Speech WOULD Be Awesome…

Wristbands That Translate Sign Language Into Speech Would Be Awesome…but alas, this project is entirely fictional. A team of advertising students at the  Berghs School of Communication in Sweden submitted this concept video titled “Google Gesture” to Future Lions in Cannes.  The concept behind “Google Gesture” is to create an ingenious way to translate signing into spoken word: electronic wristbands that measure the wearer’s muscle activity, recognizing sign language symbols and speaking them through an Android device. It could quite literally give signers a voice. Continue reading “Wristbands Translating Sign Language Into Speech WOULD Be Awesome…”

These Ice Buildings are Really…Cool. I Apologize.

Again, sorry about that pun; I’ve been watching “Batman & Robin” because I felt a need to punish myself. Anyways, we typically think of buildings being made of materials like concrete, brick, steel, and other things.  But what about ICE; you know frozen water?  I’m taking about entire structures made of the stone cold stuff, not some piece of novelty furniture or some bar you saw on television. Here are 5 of my favorite and extravagant complete ice structures found ACROSS THE WORLD!! Continue reading “These Ice Buildings are Really…Cool. I Apologize.”
