Brock Lesnar Destroys A Car Live AND in Street Fighter-Style…

Remember last week when #1 contender for the WWE World Championship Brock Lesnar beat up a car — that belonged to J&J Security — live on Monday Night Raw. Well, if you saw this AND you enjoy playing video games every now-and-then (sarcasm), then you know very well who else does that? That;s correct; Street Fighter characters. I would say “check out the answer after the break,” but I have a feeling you know where I’m going with this…

Street Fighter + Mortal Kombat + Pro Wrestling = OH…YEAH!!!!

What I love about pro wrestling is that it can take larger-than-life personalities and fantasies, and make them as real as they can be, live and in living color (in living WHAT?!).  Over in Oakland, popular video game franchise Street Fighter was real; at least for one night earlier this year. Oakland’s wrestling crew at Hoodslam took on Capcom’s fighter and put it in the ring for the live audience and the WHOLE INTERNET to watch of episode 14 of its series, titled “I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Hoodslam”.  In case the video embedded above doesn’t start at the right spot for you, you’ll want to begin at 3:12. While some of the action before hand is pretty entertaining, you may want to check out Vega’s entrance at 3:12. That, and if you remember Vega from the 1994 Street Fighter movie (for the love of all things holy, IGNORE The Legend of Chun-Li), you’d figure out just how awesome Vega is.  He’s pretty amazing in the above video too.

Watch Capcom’s FREE ‘I Am Street Fighter’ Documentary! NOW!

I have a question for you. Would you have an hour of free time or so? You could just sit back, kick up and relax your feet, party on down to an X-scape beat (see what I did there), OR you could spend that free hour watching a brand new free to watch documentary from Capcom.  The above film is titled “I Am Street Fighter,” which … Continue reading Watch Capcom’s FREE ‘I Am Street Fighter’ Documentary! Fan Film “Street Fighter: Legacy” to become Live-Action Series

I cannot get enough of fan films and fan shows based on video games! It feels as if, unlike Hollywood (for the most part), the gaming fans are the ones who really understand the game, its stories, and characters.  It is because of that, they are often very successful in translating an interactive entertainment medium into a passive, yet entertaining, presentation.  The creator of the incredibly popular Street Fighter fan film “Street Fighter: Legacy” announced last week at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) that he has partnered with Capcom — the creators of the popular fighting game series — to create a live-action series to follow-up on his original short film.   Continue reading “Fan Film “Street Fighter: Legacy” to become Live-Action Series”
