Learning is a wonderful thing that I refuse to take for granted. Practically everyday we have a chance to learn some new fact, story, skill, and various other things everyday. This past week, I learned of the certain rules that WWE, WrestleCade, ROH and several promotions headed to New Orleans for the week of WrestleMania 34 have to abide by. This information is all thanks to an interview from Post Wrestling’s John Pollock with Russell Naquin of the Louisiana Boxing and Wrestling Commission. Christopher Daniels Talks To Ring Rust Radio about Ring of Honor, Retirement, and the Mount Rushmore of ROH

Back in March, pro wrestling veteran Christopher Daniels won the Ring of Honor World Championship for the first time in his career, occurring about 15 years after he first debuted with the promotion. While people like myself have followed Daniel’s career for almost as long as he’s been with the company — I’ve followed his career since the spring of 2000 — other more casual wrestling fans might be left wondering why ROH awarded its top prize to a 47-year-old while their company is focused on building new stars.  However, at the end of the day, Daniels’ championship victory was one of the most memorable moments in ROH’s history, because finally — FINALLY — watching Daniels lifelong dream in the twilight of his career come into fruition is what wrestling is truly about. Remembering CM Punk’s Time in Ring of Honor…

While it’s true that Ring of Honor was not the first place CM Punk began to make his name, it was, however, the house that he helped build.  It can be argued that the upstart independent promotion ended up much better off after he left for WWE than before he arrived from IWA: Mid-South. WWE Champion Seth Rollins Once Moonsaulted Off A Fan!

We all know Seth Rollins (real name Colby Lopez) as the former Mr. Money-In-The-Bank, as he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 31. But how about his past, before he was in The Shield? How about BEFORE he was NXT Champion? Or before he was the Ring of Honor Champion? Back in the day (before signing with WWE), Rollins was known as Tyler Black, and in the video above, here he is leaping off a fan to attack current ROH star Matt Sydal (formerly known as Evan Bourne in WWE) with a moonsault! Watch this Documentary Short on Veda Scott. Like Now. RIGHT NOW!

veda scott

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Veda Scott. Some of my fellow wrestling fans may know her as legal counsel to RD Evans in Ring of Honor (which makes sense as she began training in pro wrestling while in law school), but in essence she’s quite-possibly the best vegan, houndstooth-wearing, intelligent tough-as-nails lady wrestler in the world. Of course, it’s possible that many of you out there have no clue who Veda Scott is, so filmmaker Kenny Johnson aims to help change that. Continue reading “Watch this Documentary Short on Veda Scott. Bryan Danielson vs. Paul London: 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match

Remember when I talked about professional wrestling possibly being the greatest form of performance art in world? Well if not, click this link; if so, then here’s an example of the performance art of professional wrestling.  On April 12th, 2003, Ring of Honor (ROH) hosted their event, “The Epic Encounter,” and in what is probably the match that stole the show, Bryan Danielson (now known as Daniel Bryan in the WWE) took on Paul London in a physically grueling Two-Out-Of-Three-Falls match. Oh boy, it’s QUITE a watch….and is an AWESOME match! Continue reading “Bryan Danielson vs. Paul London: 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match”
