Back on July 19th, the WWE held its first Brand Draft since 2011, creating two different and exclusive talent rosters for Raw and SmackDown. However, back on July 7th, a Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton match was announced for this year’s WWE SummerSlam, and what makes this match very interesting is the fact that Lesnar and Orton haven’t worked a televised match together since 2002. Back in 2002, after the first WWE Brand Extension Draft in April, both superstars were on SmackDown for a brief period of time and first worked a match together on the main roster on September 5th.
For real, Rocksteady? For really, reals??… Anyway, Batman: Arkham Knight released its latest DLC called “Season of Infamy,” back on December 22. It’s here where you can fight ninjas in a hospital, fight the Mad Hatter in Wonderland, get all sad and stuff with Mr. Freeze, and — if you’re a wrestling fan — the “Beneath the Surface” mission. Why that mission you ask? Well, in it, Batman and Nightwing both drop Killer Croc with RKOs. Again, I have no freaking clue why this exists, but it’s there, this is the Internet, therefore I’m obliged to share it with the masses. You’re welcome. After Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s initial break in Hollywood with the films like “The Scorpion King,” “Be Cool” and “The Rundown,” there’s been speculation among wrestling fans as to who will be the next WWE breakout Hollywood Star? Now, remember the first “12 Rounds” starring John Cena? While that may or may not be a trick question (due to the film’s very short stay in theaters), it was a fairly entertaining and mindlessly fun action film with an protagonist completing 12 rounds of challenges made by the antagonist. It, however, has not made John Cena a breakout Hollywood star, and the less said about the paint-by-numbers and SIMILARLY-PLOTTED ’12 Rounds 2: Reloaded’ starring Randy Orton, the better. If you were to ask me my opinion on the next WWE star that could make a decent case for himself in Hollywood, my money is on Dean Ambrose.

Here’s the thing: I may NEVER tire of the “RKO Outta Nowhere” phenomenon, whether it’s in the squared-circle, out of the squared-circle, or crudely inserted in funny internet videos. Thankfully, the folks at Vigeo provided me more entertainment by offering up some comedy starring Randy Orton and some unexpected enemies, such as The Avengers, The Rock, Iron Man, Shia Labeouf, and more. After watching The Viper take down … Continue reading Randy Orton RKOs the Actors, Wrestlers AND Marvel/DC Cinematic Universes…
We’re not sure of this video’s context (or even how old it is), but it’s Randy Orton being RKO’d by a little kid and we’re calling it a Christmas miracle. This YouTube version clips off the very beginning with Orton explaining to the kid that he’s gotta do the theatrics, and basically this is 10 seconds (ON LOOP) dedicated to making Randy Orton your favorite wrestler. One of the staples of modern professional wrestling is the contract signing for an upcoming pay-per-view match (which never, EVER go wrong, right?). There’s usually a covered table (that someone may get put through), some chairs for the soon-to-be participants will be seated in (and possibly get hit over the head with), very intense and intimidating verbal squabbles (that may lead to an all-out brawl), and of course, the signing of the contract for the highly-anticipated match. After the break, there’s a photo taken of the contract for a match at this past Sunday’s WWE Payback pay-per-view between Evolution (Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton) and The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns). It’s hard to make out the text in the photo at the bottom of the contract for that was used on the May 26th edition of RAW, but it’s visible enough to read the interesting message. From John “Johnny Ace” Laurinaitis’ Ace Crusher, to Diamond Dallas Page’s Diamond Cutter, the cutter finishing move had been adapted to a quicker and smoother move, courtesy of Randy Orton’s RKO — because his full name is Randal Keith Orton; RKO; get it? The move is quick, beautiful, and very destructive, yet his most memorable RKO deliveries involved putting his opponents through tables, flipping them over, and — my favorite — catching them mid-air. Without further ado, here are some of my notable favorite RKO’s delivered by the WWE’s Apex Predator himself. Continue reading “My Four Favorite RKO’s of Randy Orton’s Career”
