I have been a proud owner of the PlayStation VR hardware since its launch last year, and for the past several months I’ve enjoyed playing VR-based games and demos, while also having a fun time playing non-VR games in theater mode. VR, in general, is successful when the visuals and audio become optimally immersive, but most of the focus had been on visuals. To show how capable PSVR can be by having the audio and other sounds adapt to your movement in the virtual space, Sony brought in violinist Joshua Bell to record a 360-degree virtual reality studio session at Air Studios’ Lyndhurst Hall in London. This project, which features adaptive audio and positional tracking, allows the subject wearing the PSVR helmet to semi-realistically “step inside” the recording studio.

Before you step back into the world of Gravity Rush, check out this two-part, 17-minute Gravity Rush the Animation ~Overture~, which takes place between 2012’s Gravity Rush (which was AWESOME on the PS Vita and PS4) and the upcoming Gravity Rush 2 for the PS4. For players familiar with the franchise’s first physics-defying action title, they’ll recognize series characters Kat and Raven, who are present and star in the animation. Gravity Rush the Animation ~Overture~ fills in their story following Gravity Rush’s cliffhanger ending. Continue reading Watch the entire ‘Gravity Rush: The Overture Animation’ Anime for FREE!
Upon it’s release, No Man’s Sky was a game you either loved or hated, depending on your gaming tastes and your interpretation of the features advertised by the developers (or the gaming media’s assumptions of features not announced by the developers). Well, on November 25th, Hello Games, the team behind the game that went on radio silence after the game’s release, promised a forthcoming “Foundation Update” for the PC and PS4 versions of the game that would expand and add new features to the title, as well as serve as the first of many free expansions to No Man’s Sky. The dev team came through with that promise as the Foundation update went live on November 27th. Continue reading Redemption, Thy Name is ‘No Man’s Sky’s’ Foundation Update…
Since Sega debuted this game series back in 2005 on the PlayStation 2, the Yakuza games have brought a unique flavor of open-world brawling to consoles worldwide. Think of it as modern Grand Theft Auto meets old-school River City Ransom set in Japan. I recall Area5 (you know, the former “1Up Show” people) referring to the series as “Shenmue done right.” Anyway, the PlayStation 4-exclusive Yakuza 6 is coming out soon in Japan, and it’s been reported by a Japanese gaming publication that New Japan Pro Wrestling stars will be appearing in the game as a rival gang. I love this; I want this; ALL of this; IN MY FACE! Continue reading New Japan Pro Wrestling Invades The Upcoming ‘Yakuza 6’ Game
The PlayStation® Meeting 2016 live from the PlayStation® Theater in Times Square, New York City. It’s only open to members of the press, but Sony also wanted to open the invitation to PlayStation fans to watch live. Be sure to stick around after the presentation for a special episode of PlayStation LiveCast.
I don’t know why I’m surprised by this being a thing. I should have known that madness of the legacy of the late-WWE Hall-of-Famer “Macho Man” Randy Savage was just TOO MACHO to stay in only one Bethesda game. Fallout 4 has been out since early November of last year, but I htink I speak for most gamers that the game was not as good as Skyrim due to the lack of the Macho Madness himself. As my PS4 and Xbox One-playing brethren have to wait until console mod support, PC gamers are reaping the benefit of modders creating the Macho Claws mod. Dig it?
I LOVE Psychonauts! I also love playing games on my PlayStation 4! Well, it was recently announced that Double Fine’s classic PS2 platformer Psychonauts is heading to PS4 this spring! Now, I already own a complete copy of the game for PS2 that I replay every-so-often, so I won’t be purchasing the updated version for my PS4. However, if you don’t already own it or haven’t played it before, you really, REALLY should. Continue reading Double Fine’s Classic ‘Psychonauts’ Comes to PS4 This Spring!
Calling “Lobos Jr” is one of the most talented Souls players is an understatement—he once beat the game upside down! He’s been going through Bloodborne’s newest DLC, The Old Hunters, and he recently, he pulled off the incredible feat of beating the insanely-difficult first boss — and probably the hardest boss fight in the game, Ludwig — on New Game+++++++ (that’s 7+’s, by the way) only using his fists.

I had absolutely NO IDEA that there was a video game based on the short-film movie Kung Fury (and if you haven’t watched it yet, it’s up on YouTube for FREE) and it’s called Kung Fury: Street Rage. Apparently, the fairly simple beat-’em-up video game has been available on Steam and mobile for a while now, but it’s ALSO available for the PlayStation 4.
