Anyways, Evan Amos wasn’t happy with the lackluster image quality of gaming console Wikipedia, so he started taking and sharing pictures of his own consoles. This venture of passion would lead to Amos to create The Game Console: A Photographic History from Atari To Xbox. Amos’ book, now available for purchase from physical and digital bookstores, is a wonderful hardbound tome consisting of 250 pages of video game systems from the first generation (the Magnavox Odyssey, Pong consoles, etc.) all the was through to the current, eighth generation of game consoles. ‘Night Trap’ Re-release Sparks ‘Night Trap 2’ Development; Work on Sequel to Speed Up After NT1’s Ports are Done

This Friday, the remaster of the classic/infamous full-motion video game Night Trap will be re-released in a limited physical run on August 11 (thanks to developer Screaming Villains & Limited Run Games), while the digital release on PS4 and PC takes place on August 15. Due to the positive feedback of the re-release, its sequel, Night Trap 2, is currently in the very early stages of development as it aims to go into full-speed after the original game’s other remastered ports are finished and released. Another interesting little tid-bit is that the original game director, James Riley, will be heavily involved in the sequel’s development. Now You Can Get Physical Boxes for your Digital Steam Games

Steam Game CoversAny game that you purchase from Steam is digital; they exist entirely on your PC or on servers. But because they’re digital, doesn’t mean that they have to remain JUST digital. Steam Game Covers is a site dedicated to the creation and hosting of templates people can use to make their own physical cases for Steam games. Much like we’ve been doing for those games we purchase second-hand that don’t come with covers, after you back up your game on a disc, print out a cover, put it in a CD jewel case or DVD case or what have you, and viola: now you have a physical Steam collection on your shelf or desk or box or attic. HUZZAH! GOG accepting old CD keys for Digital Games!

Are you one of those gamers (i.e. LIKE ME) who have a pile of old PC game discs cluttering up your home for use on an certain type of operating systems **cough** Windows 95 **cough** Windows XP **cough** they no longer use? Every now and then, I like to go back to one of those old games and not have to buy a new physical copy when the disk of THAT SAME GAME is right in front of me! Well, the good people at GOG.com are working on a solution for us as their new Reclaim service allows gamers to input valid CD keys for physical games that we already own to redeem free digital copies.
