When it comes to making a pointless argument about which of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is the best, it’s really NO CONTEST; the Great Pyramids of Giza are the only ones left standing, so it wins…..I guess. . However, there are plenty of other ancient structures that were not included in that “Wonders of the World” list as well, and many of them have been around for at least over 1,000 years. Above is the final 8:30 minutes of the “I Quit” Steel Cage Match at NWA Starrcade 1985 between Tully Blanchard (Champion; accompanied by Baby Doll) and Magnum T.A. (Challenger) for the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship. This match (in its entirety, anyway) embodies my opinions of the best types of wrestling matches: it depended more on telling the story of the match to the audience through the flow of the match, rather than depend on a series of disjointed short spots like most wrestling matches today do. So, you want to build your dream home for an inexpensive price, in a debt-free fashion, while enjoying the natural landscape (you know, look at the sunrise sunset, trees, hills, etc.), AND use discarded materials (like, I don’t know, old storage containers) to be as sustainable as possible? Well then, this story’s for you! Gabriela Calvo and Marco Peralta wanted to build their dream home located about 20 minutes away from San Jose, Costa Rica, but they wanted to do it in the fashion mentioned previously. Instead of opting for cheap public housing, they took two discarded storage containers and gave the project to architect Benjamin Garcia.
This is about as OLD SCHOOL as it can get (or at least since it’s a miracle that the film survived)!
