Learning is a wonderful thing that I refuse to take for granted. Practically everyday we have a chance to learn some new fact, story, skill, and various other things everyday. This past week, I learned of the certain rules that WWE, WrestleCade, ROH and several promotions headed to New Orleans for the week of WrestleMania 34 have to abide by. This information is all thanks to an interview from Post Wrestling’s John Pollock with Russell Naquin of the Louisiana Boxing and Wrestling Commission. Blizzard’s hit online multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch is fun and awesome. I know it. You know it. Mechanical cosplayer Mike Carambat knows it, as well as his daughter (who is also a cosplayer). Carambat, who goes by retroresource on Reddit, has built a walking D.Va mech. This mech even comes with four thrusters that blow smoke and strobe, that arms move up and down via the controllers, a steering mechanism within the torso, an old electric wheelchair forming the base, and rotating guns rotate that light up in different colors. The mech even features a sound system with D.Va voice-overs, a rear exit hatch and even a fan to keep the pilot cool. Typically, we would have to wait until the current year’s WrestleMania to find out where the following year’s “Granddaddy-Of-Them-All” with take place. Well, it turns out that New Orleans Saints quarterback has let the cat out of the back early as far as where WrestleMania 30’s location with be in 2014. Earlier this week, Brees (via @drewbrees) excitedly tweeted:
“The word from the French Quarter is that @WWE is bringing @WrestleMania to our house in 2014! #NOLA @MBSuperDome #WM30“
Well, I guess that ends all of the months-and-months of speculations for ABSOLUTELY ANYONE who has been following this story, the breaking news that WrestleMania 30 (or the clever “XXX,” if it were the “Attitude Era”) will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans shouldn’t be THAT much of a shock to anyone.

Famed architect Frank Gehry has completed his first home for Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation. Located in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, LA, this two-family home is a new addition in a neighborhood that encountered some of the worst damage in the aftermath of the flooding during Hurricane Katrina. The house also conforms to LEED Platinum Standards, which was due to the inclusion of weathering-resistant materials for the siding, an array of solar panels on the roof — along with the high-efficiency roofing– and many other eco-friendly products. What make this piece of news newsworthy to me is that this house doesn’t seem like something that was designed by Gehry, as the so-called “starchitect” is known for his structures deemed “outlandish,” “over-the-top,” “attention-seeking,” and typically void of representing local vernacular.
