During a Memphis Grizzlies game this past Saturday, where they fell 112-99 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, WWE Hall of Famers Jerry “The King” Lawler and Rikishi Fatu would join the Grizz Girls in the third quarter to perform the latter’s dance routine made famous with Too Cool trio in WWE. This was moment that was wonderful and poignant as Lawler’s son, Brian Christopher Lawler (a.k.a., Grandmaster Sexay), was one-third of the group (along with Scott “Scotty 2 Hotty” Taylor) during their run in the Attitude Era.
No; ME NEITHER! Well, it WAS 1986 and I was JUST a year old, but regardless, this is a thing. Should the words ‘wrestling with girls’ and the name ‘Jerry Lawler’ make you cringe, then you remember the WWE’s Attitude Era very well. Also, you’re going to enjoy this video; by enjoy, I mean that you’ll likely ball yourself up in a fetal position due to awkwardness that could result in your sex drive being completely evaporated before the end of the week, rendering your weekend ruined. I bring you some more classic professional wrestling in the form of CWA Championship Wrestling. The match above is a classic Memphis Wrestling tag team match featuring Kevin Sullivan and Wayne Farris with manager Jimmy Hart challenging the current tag team champs, Bill Dundee and Dream Machine, for the American Wrestling Association Southern Tag Team Championships. This match took place on May 2, 1981 at the WMC TV5 Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. The play–by-play commentary is presented by Lance Russell and Dave Brown, and match was refereed by Jerry Calhoun.

Anyway CWA Championship Wrestling presents a classic Memphis Wrestling tag team title match from August 1, 1981, featuring Japan’s Masa Fuchi and Atsushi Onita (with Tojo Yamamoto) challenging the current champs, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Bill Dundee, for the AWA Southern Tag Team Championship from the WMC TV5 Studio in Memphis, Tennessee.
