Monster Hunter. Okami. Mega Man. Devil May Cry. Ace Attorney. Breath of Fire. Street Fighter. And SO MUCH MORE. It appears that a whole lotta Capcom video game soundtracks just so happen to have materialize over at Spotify a couple of days ago. This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Mega Man (or Rockman) video game series in Japan. To mark this marvelous occasion, Japanese bicycle maker KhodaaBloom recently released a special bike on February 17th. “What so special about this bike?” you may ask. Well, the bike in question is adorned by the color motif, the Japanese box art design and the 8-bit pixellated design of the … Continue reading Presenting the Official Mega Man Bicycle. Just What The World Needed…
The eight-minute video above is something else. It features the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, comprised of people in their 50s (or older), many of whom have likely never played a game in the Mega Man series, flawlessly perform theme songs from the games. It is quite the amazing sight! Most of the set has music from Mega Man 3, but also includes music from 1 and 2, as … Continue reading Here’s a Full Swedish Orchestra performing a Mega Man Medley…
While the earlier years of the NES may never have had the power to produce a game like this, I like to hold imagine that the classic system could have in its twilight years… Anyway, here’s CineFix’s take on a game based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which looks great as a late NES, early SNES game, something from the early … Continue reading ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ as an NES Game…
I guess SOMEONE has to keep the ‘Mega Man’ love going; Capcom sure isn’t doing anything so far… It common knowledge in the retro-gaming community that beating either Mega Man X or Mega Man X 2 is a satisfying, yet difficult feat. Now, beating them both classic games at once? Now THAT’S pretty freaking amazing. NOW, beating them both at once using the SAME CONTROLLER? Well that’s just plain … Continue reading Gamer Beats Mega Man X and X2 At The SAME TIME…with the SAME Controller!
Mega Man fans aren’t just hardcore (Mega Man 3 FOR THE WIN), we are quite the dedicated bunch. What’s that? You want me to give you an example as to WHY? Well, how about this awesome fan game that two (count ’em, TWO) people have been working on since 2008. The game is called Mega Man: Revenge of the Fallen (and I know what you’re thinking; it’s NOT a Transformers reference). The subtitle is actually a reference to the game’s story, which involves the Robot Masters being revived by the evil (or misunderstood?) Dr. Wily, and they’re out looking for revenge on the Blue Bomber. Naturally (because VIDEO GAMES), it’s your job to stop them. Continue reading “Fans Spent Six Years Making This Mega Man Game”
This week on WIRed (aside from Power Rangers and Bobby Darin stuff), Louis Kahn talks to his building materials, Audrey Hepburn returns for a Dove chocolate commercial a Mega Man USB Mega Buster Drive that’s…well…pretty MEGA indeed, and what ECW Original Jason Knight is up to now. Continue reading “Kahn’s Bricks, Hepburn Returns, Mega USBuster & Jason Knight! – WIRed #37”
Even though I have shown more love for Sonic on this site, I have shown my fandom for Capcom’s Blue Bomber, Mega Man. I’ve mentioned the FACT that Mega Man 3 is better than Mega Man 2, the 25th anniversary soundtrack collection, and the crossover comic with Sonic, and today I share the new 8GB Mega Buster USB stick for $19.95, that should be on sale at the Capcom Store this week. But this USB drive is much MORE than meets the eye. Continue reading “Mega Man’s Mega Buster Mega-busting USB Stick”
I realize that if my readers see a Sonic-related post on “The PractitioNERD” they think I’m ready to fanboy-out on the gaming mascot (and they have proof of that here, here, here, here, here, and here), but if you’ve never heard of Eddie Lebron, let me quickly introduce him to you. He is the independent filmmaker who is responsible for that awesome full-length Mega Man fan film, and today he has released a brand, new short film depicting a more realistic take on the classic Sega mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. But what makes this project even more awesome is that Lebron brought back Sonic’s cartoon voice actor (Steven Q. Urkel himself) Jaleel White for the title role, and combines a computer-generated Sonic with live actors, including a live-action Dr. Robotnik. Check out the film after the break! Continue reading ““Sonic The Hedgehog” Fan Film, Starring Jaleel White!”
This week’s episode of The PractitioNERD discusses a simple, vernacular Canadian Train Station (The Le Massif de Charlevoix Train Station), Bluetooth-operated light bulbs (Bluetooth Light Bulbs), Sonic the Hedgehog & Mega Man form a tag team against evil (Archie Comic’s Sonic / Mega Man Series to Crossover), and The Hitman vs. British Bulldog at SummerSlam ‘92! (Hart vs. Smith for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam).
…also, THE QUESTION OF THE WEEK!! Continue reading “Train Stations, Bluetooth Lights, Sonic/Mega Man & Classic Hart Drama – WIRed #9”
