With 2018 almost upon us, there are many games that we’ve enjoyed this year, but that means even MORE releases to look forward to next year! There are even articles — like this one from Sports Betting Dime — published that discuss which anticipated new games are expected to sell really well in 2018, and I have a feeling that a few Atlus games will make that discussion. On Christmas Eve, Atlus held their Persona live stream, which was 75 minutes of awesome insanity that featured news about the upcoming Persona 5 anime, Blu-ray sets, the official canon name for the Persona 5 protagonist (you know, Joker), and the two upcoming Persona: Dancing Night game titles. Trust me, that stream was full of goofy-wackyness!

A couple of weeks ago on ‘Sup Holmes, Destructoid’s Jonathan Holmes conducted a near-two-hour interview with Dan Adelman, now the former head of digital content and development at Nintendo of America, who before that was the product planner at Microsoft and business development manager at Xbox. As a longtime gamer, you’d you can see that Adelman has had some of the best jobs in the games industry, however he recently left all of that behind to create his own business and marketing consulting service company for independent game developers.

Let’s reminisce and go back to the days of when advertising posters for live professional wrestling events were simple, to-the-point, and weren’t focused on a single wrestler. Back in the day when the poster designers used the simplest of typography strategies to establish the show’s (and the poster’s) hierarchy — which may look ugly to some — that works in its own vintage, antique-style way. Either way, here’s a trip via the way-back time machine called “The Internet,” and I hope you enjoy this series of classic professional wrestling posters!

I love a variety of video games, ranging from the open-world “do-what-you-want-to-do” of Grand Theft Auto, the sidescrolling action of Mega Man, and the humor of Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Brutal Legend. What I also love is the recent trend of new games with the retro, old school, 8-bit graphical imagery such as the recent Mega Man titles (9 & 10), Tempura of the Dead, and Fez. From all of that, it seems that Retro City Rampage — an upcoming downloadable action-adventure video game for WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and Windows — is right up my alley, plus it’s a parody of retro games and pop culture, including the popular Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series.
