In this month’s architecture/technology/video game/pro wrestling-themed episode of PractitioNERD Documented, or “Doc’D”, host Montez McCrary will be discussing the history, uniqueness and legacy of the retired Ring of Honor’s Pure Championship title.Continue reading “Ring of Honor Pure Championship – Doc’D #44”
In case you missed it (likely you didn’t), professional wrestler Daniel Bryan (or Bryan Danielson) officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling due to issues stemming from multiple concussions. While it’s sad to see him go, I’d much rather have him walk away from the business on his own accord rather than have to be carried out. I’ve posted many times about Bryan on the site before (see HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE & HERE), and after watching him wrestle from his days in Shawn Michael’s Texas Wrestling Alliance back in 2000 to his WWE run, I’m going to miss seeing him on TV, but I’m glad I got to see his work when I did. #ThankYouDanielBryan! On the final Raw of 2013, Daniel Bryan did the unthinkable by joining the Wyatt Family. This came months after being ambushed and attached by the group and always falling short of victory. In storyline, it made sense as Bray Wyatt is a manipulative mastermind and Bryan was at a mentally weak and existing time in his career. With Wyatt promising that they could take over the WWE together, it got plenty of people talking going into the new year… Continue reading “Remember when Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatt Family? Yeah, Me Neither!”
It’s time for Episode 110 of WIRed, where Montez McCrary discusses saving a brutalist legend, Google and MIT’s shape-shifting robot, how net neutrality effects gaming, and a classic two-out-of-three-falls-match from Ring of Honor! Welcome to WIRed, bringing you the nerdy-geekery on architecture, technology, gaming, and pro wrestling. Continue reading “Brutalist ShiftBot Neutrality Best-of-Three – WIRed #110”
Remember when I talked about professional wrestling possibly being the greatest form of performance art in world? Well if not, click this link; if so, then here’s an example of the performance art of professional wrestling. On April 12th, 2003, Ring of Honor (ROH) hosted their event, “The Epic Encounter,” and in what is probably the match that stole the show, Bryan Danielson (now known as Daniel Bryan in the WWE) took on Paul London in a physically grueling Two-Out-Of-Three-Falls match. Oh boy, it’s QUITE a watch….and is an AWESOME match! Continue reading “Bryan Danielson vs. Paul London: 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match”
It’s time for Episode 97 of WIRed, where Montez McCrary discusses taking a bit out of architecture — kinda sorta — , the Sony Reader PRS-500, the She Got Game documentary series, and TNA pulls a pathetic Mr. Me-Too after WrestleMania 30! Welcome to WIRed, bringing you the nerdy-geekery on architecture, technology, gaming, and pro wrestling. Continue reading “One/Two Sony Reader FemGaming Copycat – WIRed #97”
This week on WIRed, we discuss an architecture grad’s school bus retrofitted into a tiny house, a USB-powered desktop BB rifle, ‘Game Dev Tycoon’ and it’s hilarious anti-piracy efforts, and my favorite Daniel Bryan/CM Punk memes!
Since I know that it’s become clear that I enjoy LEGO, Sonic The Hedgehog, do-it-yourself projects, and indie games, I haven’t been secretive of my appreciation for professional wrestlers Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) and Phillip Brooks (CM Punk — did that just blow your mind?). Rather than just talking about a match, how about I show you in images how awesome these guys are? More after the break! Continue reading “And now…DANIEL BRYAN & CM PUNK MEMES!”
