This past Monday night on WWE Monday Night RAW, the WWE produced a heartfelt and emotional tribute to “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali, who passed away late Friday night, June 3rd 2016. The WWE took a look back on Ali’s groundbreaking career, as he left an indelible mark on the worlds of boxing and sports-entertainment. Yes, you read that right; on the snowy, damp Friday night of March 16th, 1956 in Washington, D.C., crowds slipped into their seats at the Uline Arena to watch legendary Hall-of-Fame boxer Joe Louis make his wrestling debut against Cowboy Rocky Lee. Quite the interesting change to the standard wrestling card, huh?
Electric bikes offer the best of both worlds: they provide an electric drive train for that much-needed boost AND retain pedal power for some human-powered propulsion and exercise. However, the major drawback to current e-bikes is their bulky appearance and extra weight from the onboard battery needed for powering the bike. But thanks to Diavelo, that could be a thing of the past… Continue reading “The Diavelo Zeitgeist is a stealthily-disguised Electric Bike; You Couldn’t Tell From Looking at it…”
In this episode of Geek Me Five, host Montez McCrary will be discussing the lead-up, the incident, and the lasting legacy of the infamous “Heidi Bowl” from 1968, as the New York Jets played the Oakland Raiders, and the movie that interrupted the broadcast of one of the greatest comebacks in pro football history. I’m both very happy and very confused that this has become a thing. It’s one of those things that can only happen on the internet and makes you debate on whether you should laugh or groan in anguish over its absurdity. Ladies and gentlemen, late last year, a new, special Twitter account was born, @WWESubway, which features a series of reaction GIFs taken from the professional wrestling world, and applied to every/anything that could happen to you at a Subway. We finally did it, folks; everyone can go home… Enjoy. Continue reading “Why @WWESubway is the Perfect Wrestling GIF Account…”
Can you smell what The Jones is cooking?
A few Saturday nights ago, the Jacksonville Sharks got into the AFL playoffs with a monstrous 63-16 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm. The game got so out of hand that the team celebrated a touchdown by electrifying the millions…and millions of The Rock’s fans, with #11 Tiger Jones playing the role of the Great One and teammate #93 Moqut Ruffins playing the role of some jabroni whom the smackdown was layeth down upon. A couple of weeks ago, Monday Night RAW took place in Cleveland, Ohio, and WWE’s own Seth Rollins took to the ring to deliver an epic and flaming takedown of every Cleveland-based sports franchise, including giving Johnny “Football” Manziel (GIG ‘EM!) a very sophisticated insult of a name: Idiot Face. Clever Seth, REEEEAL clever….NOT!! Anyway, you can watch that clip above, as Seth also cruelly predicted that LeBron wasn’t going to bring the city an NBA Championship they’ve longed for.
Well, he certainly called it, huh? Continue reading “How WWE Champion Seth Rollins Helped The Golden State Warriors Win The NBA Finals”
I’ve made it no secret here at The PractitioNERD that I’m a huge fan (read “mark”) for D’Lo Brown or that I credit him for getting me back into wrestling and for being possible the most entertaining European Champion in WWE history (in my honest opinion). Recently, the Pancakes and Powerslams Show was had D’Lo Brown on as a special guest host, as he was promoting his new D’Lo Pro Wrestling Academy (you know, teaching the future how to properly wag their heads around and how they better recognize). Brown had plenty to discuss regarding his time WWE, TNA and Japan. Continue reading “‘Pancakes & Powerslams’ with D’Lo Brown!”
ESPN has released a preview of their latest E:60 documentary, WWE: Behind the Curtain. This documentary takes viewers through the inner workings of the WWE Performance Center training facilities in Florida (you know, NXT’s home turf), and it includes interviews with WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, WWE icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and WWE Owner/Chairman Vince McMahon. It’s unknown at this time whether or not they’ll address the … Continue reading Here’s The Trailer For ESPN’s ‘WWE: Behind The Curtain’ E:60 Documentary
