For the uninitiated, “Supreme Warrior” was an awful fighting game that took place in a first-person perspective that was released on the Sega CD (or Sega Mega CD), 3DO and the Sega 32X-CD (oh, sweet lord; that was a THING…) in 1994 and 1995. The less said about that game the better.
Anyway, YouTubers SoKrispyMedia show us why Super Smash Bros. with a VR headset in first person view would be an interesting experience, but considering the multiple fighters and varied levels (with many and sometime moving platforms) this could make the game problematic and difficult to play.
We don’t have to worry about Nintendo making a game like this in the near future since they’re not really interested in the technology, but that doesn’t make this real-life VR concept less entertaining. It’s a very well-edited video featuring Link, multiple items, drop-through platforms and a cute-yet-deadly Kirby.
Also, HERE’S Supreme Warrior for comparison…
