John Cena vs. Kurt Angle…IN A RAP BATTLE!

And now, for something completely different…

When John Cena debuted in WWE in 2002, he was inspired by a speech given by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to the rising stars of the company, exhorting them to show “ruthless aggression” to earn a place among the legends, Cena took advantage of the opportunity to face Angle. Cena managed to counter the Angle Slam and the ankle lock submission hold, but ultimately lost to a hard amateur wrestling-style pin.  Over time, on a Halloween themed episode of SmackDown, Cena dressed as Vanilla Ice performing a freestyle rap. The next week, Cena received a new character: a rapper who cut promos while rhyming. Which leads to this golden nugget of history with Cena rapping a promo on fellow WWE Superstar and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle. But Cena was unprepared for Angle’s retaliation, which was a rap promo of his own.  And you know what, Angle was not only pretty good (and showed a twinge of rhythm and smooth moves), his still maintained his goofiness. Enjoy everyone!
