Games publisher Reef Entertainment has recently announced that their Rambo video game will have a playable build of the console and PC game on the Gamescom gaming convention show floor in August. Despite this would actually be the ninth Rambo video games, the title of this new game is simply titled “Rambo: The Video Game” rather than “Rambo 9;” because if the movies can’t get a grasp of how numbers work, why the heck should the video games even attempt to do so*? Reef Entertainment’s commercial director Craig Lewis commented on the fact that the publisher realizes that they “have been quiet since we acquired the Rambo license last August.” “During this time we have been dedicated to creating a video game for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle.” Reef does intend on releasing more information about the game between now and Gamescom.
I’m just ready to play this game the same way I play the Rambo light-shooter arcade game; I just wave my weapons aimlessly at the walls and ceiling and still be able to hit EVERY enemy on-screen. If it’s good enough for John Rambo, it can work for any one of us, right?
*And seriously, how the heck do you go from “First Blood,” to “Rambo: First Blood, Part II,” to “Rambo III,” and finally to just “Rambo?”
